Quality Issues

This appeared in the Good Old Boat forum:

Some boat brands generally thought of as poor, or with suspect build quality
combined with poor sailing performance and so on...
Coronado Yachts (Very cheap)
Chrysler Sailboats (Ticon)
Siedelmann (Poor build quality)
Macgregor (Ultra cheap)
Irwin (Poor build quality)
Endeavor (eratic build quality)
US Yachts (One of the worst)
Bayliner (Ugly and cheaply made)
Morgan (Eratic build on some models)
Hunter (Poor build on some models)
Ross, most sailors will agree to stay away from these brands. That's not to say
you can't "save" and old Endeavor or even Bayliner. But you'd probably do
better to buy a better boat to start with

However, when I sold it 10 years later, I got the same price that Bob paid
for his C&C.

Right, but I'll get 33-36K on the trade in 2005.
Makes you think, duh?

bwahahahahahaha! Donal, you weren't even supposed to take the bait, you dope!

When I bought my Bayliner 2450 I knew that it was the most that I could
afford. It was a cheap boat.

Stepping stone

That's the crux of it... my stepping stone allowed me to reach the cookie
jar right away!!
