Unfortunately the only difference between Somali fisherman and pirates
is guns and opportunity. Frequently they are one and the same, and
there are a lot of them. Imagine trying to track all of the fishing
boats off the coast of Florida.

I bet they can find the mother ships. These are not coastal pirates.

boats here, perhaps smaller. Those boats have a surprisingly long
operating range and are not all that large.


Yep but if you are watching them you can tell the difference between a
boat that is fishing and one that is just scouting around looking for
targets.These are cameras that can read the logo on the boat. They can
certainly see if they are dragging nets and pulling in fish.


No need for skiffs in the water leaving the boat area if they are
fishing. See that happen, no ask, just sink.
