Probably saves face for those that can't get a boat on a trailer straight.
The biggest problem is if you have an internal fuel tank that is on one
side of the boat. When you load it on the trailer it tends to settle to
the side with the fuel take if the tank a quantity of fuel.
My brother tried to drive my small boat up on the trailer,a nd when I
pulled out of the ramp, the boat was lopsided on the driver side...
I commended his efforts, then we repeated the process, only this time
I winched it up.
When I had a boat that was small enough, we would pick up the back end
and set it straight.
With my boat if I have another person, you can start rocking side to
side and it'll settle right where it's supposed to be.
