Well, I'm sure you have a reason, but didn't your buddies call you
that? Every Tom or Thomas I ever knew was called by the "nick" to which
you object.

There is only one person who ever called me by that name and she died
at 16 killed by a drunk driver - my twin sister. There isn't a day
that goes by that I don't miss her.
