Default Moving boat from Los Angeles to Florida (Vero Beach)

Another option. Sell your boat there and buy another in Florida. Boats
are generally much (?) cheaper in the southeast. You'd probably come
out ahead in the deal or at least even considering the cost of
shipping...and *plus* the un-rigging, haulout, re-stepping the mast,
bottom paint, storage while looking for a slip, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Ahoy Captain:

I think the last option--sell/buy local--the most interesting. But if
you're not a racer (who would ship without asking us) and have even
a hint of wanderlust in your soul, then sailing it IS the answer.

Of course the logistics of sailing it will be overwhelmingly more challenging
that trucking. But aaaaaaaah the price of rum in the islands. g And
think of the mileage you'll get at work when you calmly say, "No I can't
make next month's sales meeting. My Captain wants me to be there
for transiting the Panama Canal."

(And I'm NOT trying to sign-myself-on. Did 25,000 cruising/delivery
miles and then swallowed the hook. But it has stuck in my throat, as
you may have guessed.)
