Motorcyclist dies after being hit by boat

MAPLETON, IL -- Authorities say a central Illinois motorcyclist was
killed after being hit by a boat that was thrown off its trailer.
Authorities say a station wagon pulling the boat hit a guardrail on
Route 24 about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, sending the boat flying and into
37-year-old Bernard Faust of Kingston Mines. The Peoria County coroner
says Faust died at the scene about 45 minutes after the accident. The
station wagon's driver, who told police he blacked out before the crash,
has been ticketed for failure to reduce speed. Authorities say Faust was
not wearing a helmet. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
