Unless you have a *lot* of deductions you'll probably come out ahead
by a little.
The break over point is $25200 if you are less than 65 and not blind.
Two seniors will have to have over $30,000 in deductions to use a
schedule A.
For most of us, we are not even close. It is just gravy to anyone on
the standard deduction now.
