1979 Morgan 46 for sale on EBAY
Some of you may remember Skip Gundlach and his sail boat the Flying
Pig. This is a sistership for sale on EBAY with no reserve price. It looks like a bit of a project boat but aren't they all. It will probably go for a very reasonable price. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Morgan-46-Sail-Boat-/142315785598 Currently at City Marina in Charleston, SC. |

If you do a Google search on something like "flying pig skip and lydia" you'll get a lot of hits. I've met them a number of times, nice folks. Most recently we ran into them in the Abacos a couple of years ago and had them aboard for dinner. |

No survey allowed?
My buddy in the BVI says there are lots of boats available there at a good price. Maybe I should sell mine and buy a sailboat down there to use as a cottage in the winter months. Not only does my buddy have his 'Six Pack' skippers license but he also has a surveyors license which could come in handy if I was looking for a boat in that part of the Caribbean. |

They are giving you the right to refuse the sale after the auction closes and you inspect the boat. |

What you will get with a large boat of that vintage is an never-ending list of serious, expensive repairs that need to be made. |

Imaginary boats require only imaginary repairs. Same is true of Ducatis. |

That is pretty much true of boats in general if you do not do the maintenance yourself. Older boats just have more stuff that will not have a warranty and may have been ignored too long, perhaps years too long. In that regard, I don't think I want an old boat from the Caribbean. That is where old boats go to die. |
