Will it work for a recent Wilcox Head-mate? Or is there a way to lube
the pump without dismantling it?
Thanks in Advance

This should work: remove the flush water intake hose from the
pump...make sure the wet/dry lever is in the wet position. Stick
the
tube of grease into the pump and give it a good squirt. Put your
finger
over the opening and pump the toilet to spread the grease all over
the
inside of the pump. Repeat at least once.
Dumb question: Any reason why this would not work for any other
head?
A wilcox Headmate, bought last year, to be specific.
It depends on the design of the toilet and the location of the inlet
connection...whether it's even necessary. For instance, Jabsco toilet
pumps have a top that can be removed...others connect to a wet/dry
valve
housing on the pump instead of directly to the pump housing.
Btw...while I have the floor again... Dishwashing liquid is a dandy
cleaner and as bio-degradable (a meaningless term, actually) as
anything
else, but unless you use it with every flush it doesn't lubricate at
all...just washes right out again with the next flush.
